Getting Started

Reach out as soon as you have harvested your bird. We accept projects based on current availability and seasonal workload. Send a photo along with the species, date, and state harvested.
Tell us which service you are interested in, your contact information, and the harvest or tag information that applies to your bird.
Yes. TRUEWILD offers premium bird taxidermy along with custom feather art made from your own bird.

Taxidermy

We currently offer ducks, pheasants, small geese, medium geese, and large Canada geese, with habitat upgrades available. Turkey taxidermy is planned for late 2026.
Yes. Local drop-off is available at our Fremont, Ohio location by appointment. Please contact us before arriving.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. The remaining balance is due upon completion before pickup or return shipping.
Turnaround times vary by season and workload. We will provide an estimated timeframe when you book and keep you updated throughout the process.
Completed mounts should be picked up within 30 days of notification. After 30 days, a $25 per week storage fee applies until pickup or shipping arrangements have been made.

Feather Art

Yes. Using feathers from your own legally harvested bird is what makes every TRUEWILD piece personal and one of a kind.
Share inspiration photos and your preferences. We will discuss what is possible while keeping the design true to the natural pattern and available feathers from your bird.
Completed feather art should be picked up within 30 days of notification. After 30 days, a $25 per week storage fee applies until pickup or shipping arrangements have been made.

Shipping & Care

You may drop it off locally or ship it only after confirming timing with TRUEWILD and following the preparation instructions on our How It Works page.
You pay to ship the bird to us. Return shipping for the completed piece is added to your final bill.
Keep it indoors in a dry area, avoid extended direct sunlight, and dust lightly with a soft cloth or gentle air duster.
Display it away from direct sunlight, humidity, heat vents, and fireplaces. Dust gently with a soft brush or makeup brush. Do not use water or household cleaning sprays.

Policies

Because every taxidermy mount and feather art piece is custom-made specifically for your bird, we do not accept returns or offer refunds once work has begun. If you have concerns about your project, please contact us so we can address them.
